IVF is a conventional medical procedure, and Chinese medicine does not replace it. It is the one place where my medicine works beside conventional care, with two aims: to ease the side effects of the fertility medications, and to support the outcome of the IVF cycle itself.
How Chinese medicine supports an IVF cycle
Treatment is timed to your clinic’s calendar. In the months before a cycle, the focus is on preparing the body: the quality of the lining, circulation to the uterus, sleep, digestion and stress. During stimulation, the focus moves to easing the effects of the medications, such as bloating, headaches, mood swings and fatigue. Around transfer and through the two week wait, treatment is gentle and aimed at supporting implantation.
What treatment involves
Care combines acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine where it is suitable for your cycle, natural supplements, and diet and lifestyle guidance. Everything is coordinated with your fertility clinic’s protocol and never against it.
Your first visit
Your first visit is an unhurried consultation covering your IVF history, your protocol and timeline, and your overall health. I build your plan around your clinic’s calendar. If your transfer is soon, we begin where you are.
